Costa Fresco adds new, hot dishes from Charlie Bigham’s and Cartmel to it’s menu
Costa Coffee’s concept store, Costa Fresco, has launched a new range of hot dish options served straight from the oven. Partnering up with well-known, luxury brands Charlie Bigham’s and Cartmel, the new additions give the customers a wider choice which already include pastries, ciabattas, sandwiches, soups etc.
Carol Welch, Global Brand and Innovation Director commented ‘Our Costa Fresco was inspired by the Costa brothers’ passion for delicious food so we’re proud to be working with Charlie Bigham’s and Cartmel to expand our menu. We know that our customers want quality food with their coffee, and we’re confident the addition of these delicious products to our menu will give them yet more choice and expand our hot food offer’.
Charlie Bigham’s was started in 1996 and prides itself on making dishes with the same care and attention as if you had made them yourself. Quality ingredients and a commitment to creating tasty dishes sees Costa Fresco adding the Fish Pie, Lasagne and Macaroni Cheese to their menu. I tried all three when I stopped in on launch day. The Lasagne was made with a rich, slow-cooked ragu of beef and pork with egg pasta and the Macaroni Cheese was generously topped with ciabatta croutons and crispy pancetta. The hand finishing of each meal was evident and certainly more aesthetically pleasing than other dishes that can be found on supermarket shelves. The dishes are all baked in-store and then served hot straight out of the hot unit.
Founded nearly 20 years ago in a shop in the Lake District, Cartmel started out with a sticky toffee pudding before expanding their range of delicious, decadent puds. Today they are still made with 100% natural ingredients and the traditional, handmade recipe that made them legendary around Cumbria. Costa Fresco are now selling two of the Cartmel range in their concept store, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Sticky Chocolate Pudding which are both warmed through upon purchase. Served up with a jug of cream on the side it went great with the Mocha Italia blend of coffee which Costa Coffee prides itself on.
The Costa Fresco concept store is found at 190 Tottenham Court Rd.
Opening hrs are Mon-Fri 6.30-20.00 Sat 7.30-19.30 and Sun 8.00-19.30
