My perfect cocktail recipe for those hot summer days – Recipe
When the sun is high in the sky and the temperatures are soaring, you need something to cool you down and quench your thirst. Ice-cream is good and so are fizzy drinks. Combine the two and you have something reminiscent of your childhood – an ice-cream float. Want to take it up a notch? Change the fizzy pop and use alcoholic ginger beer instead. Here is my take on a float for grown-ups.
1 bottle Crabbies Alcoholic Ginger Beer
25mls hazelnut liquer
Good squeeze of lime juice
Mix the liquid ingredients in a tall glass with a little of the ice-cream. When combined add the rest of the ice-cream on top and voile – my Ginger Nutty float! The combination of ginger, chocolate and hazelnut is classic combining and the addition of lime juice cuts through the sweetness to balance out the flavours. A winning drink to put a childish grin on any adults face. Enjoy! (and please drink responsibly)
